So, after the first two months of the year I have dropped 2 pounds. I could have dropped more but I honestly didn’t have the motivation to do what was necessary until I had my physical and got some disappointing numbers. The impetus towards progress has finally arrived.
Once I decided to take things seriously, I noticed the weight begin to drop off. This means that I gained weight since my last post on New Year’s Eve. I was hovering near 230 pounds for a week or so. Now I’m back down to 222 and feeling the difference. So what am I doing? Port reductions, calorie monitoring and movement.
I still haven’t reached the point of discipline I had in 2020, but it’s enough of an improvement that things are happening. Also, I’ve come to terms with the reality that this isn’t 2020. Astonishingly, five years have passed! This is important as I’m working to make health and wellness a priority in my current situation.
I think the impetus towards progress was always there. I just needed to work out some things in my head. It’s actually not that difficult to maintain good eating habits and regular movement. Sometimes, it’s just a matter of a want-to attitude. More to come soon…
